Walter Northway School Staff has adopted a school-wide behavior program to recognize and reward students who display positive behaviors and values in the confines of the school.  We have chosen to focus on the positive behaviors to minimize the "unwanted" behaviors.  This is done by providing positive feedback and recognition as the student is "caught" doing the right thing!

The Behavior Program setup is as follows:

1) All School Staff have unique hole punches that they carry around throughout the school day.

2) Students have a behavior card which has 10 stars on it.

3) The students receive hole punches when they are displaying behaviors and values that we find beneficial to providing a positive atmosphere in the school.

4) Students can deposit their hole punches at the school bank for $0.10 per punch.

5) When students deposit their money in the bank or spend it, they are provided with another card.

5) Students can choose to spend their money in the bank at the store when it is open (2-3 times per week) or save their money to purchase larger items.
